Error collecting metrics from MSK brokers with Open Monitoring in Lenses

I’m trying to configure collecting metrics for my MSK brokers using Open Monitoring in Lenses but I’m getting the error:

General metrics connectivity error. Occurred for: http://xxxx.kafka.us-east-1.amazonaws.com:11011

Despite not having a clearer message, this error is related to the ‘metricsHttpTimeout’ parameter, where Lenses did not receive the MSK metrics response in time. In Lenses version 5.4, this issue is resolved allowing you to set this metric during the MSK broker configuration. If you are not on the latest version of Lenses, you would need to run some commands in the Lenses-CLI as described in another AskMarios post:
